Who we are
Firefly Robotics Educational Charity is a local North Devon charity (No. 1181062) run by dedicated and experienced STEM ambassadors. Our key aim is to encourage and introduce science and technology through programming to mainly KS2 students using a free shareware tool that enables the programming of an Edison robot to perform a series of geometric movements and to play sounds.

“Great fun! We burst all the balloons with our robot!.”

What we offer schools
Firefly Educational Charity provides the Edison Robots as part of their engagement with your school. During a 2-hour workshop we can introduce students to robotics and robotic programming, create and download and test a program making their Edison robot move in a pre-determined manner. This trial and error approach is a good way to learning and enables students of differing learning abilities to make the most from their interaction with our group of STEM ambassadors.
Volunteers needed!
If you have an engineering, coding or maths (STEM) background and would like to get involved with working with young people in this exciting and dynamic lesson activities, then yes please! Welcome aboard! Please go to our volunteer page to find out more.
